A Luminous Halo

Diary April 6, 1960: Double Decker!!!!!

"Dear Diary--

I started a story (short story) called 'Unit Four'. About us. That (Apr. 5) story is shaping up, too.

I didn't do my Science, I couldn't understand it, but I'll see if Janice can explain it. (We had Mrs. Holmes for Eng.) We did algebra in Sci, saw a good program on 'Play of the Week,' some Jewish stories, test in Gym. I think I got 100. (or 95)

Cooking was a riot. We made baking powder biscuits. 13 of them. Just as we were about to put them in the oven, Mrs. Fink caught us. "Only eight." So we put some one-on-top-of-another. And how funny they looked! Double decker!!!!!"
