A Luminous Halo

Diary March 15, 1960: Dubious About Swimming

"Dear Diary

'Girl's Town' ended tonight. I think. I hope not. But then I suppose I can go somewhere else, though I did want to see it again. (I want to see 'The Private Lives of Adam & Eve' with Paul Anka, too, but it hasn't come out around here yet.)

I just put more money in my bank, a total of $.50. I had a 5o cent piece, but it wouldn't fit in the slot, so it's in my jewelry box.

I'm practicing 'The Wearing of the Green' on my harmonica (trying to learn it by heart by Thursday) Got the words from music.

Wrote my story, Fritz, for art today.

Am more and more dubious about swimming after Gilda's account of it. My sidestroke!"
