A Luminous Halo

Diary March 18, 1960: Science Project Blues

"Dear Diary--

I'm working on my stories now, too. (I made a banana milkshake)

I was all for getting sick accidentally-on-purpose (on Mon.) and moped around, until lunch time. I explained my science project to Gil, and she offered to help. We picked up a piece of green cardboard (I wanted orange) and a piece of yellow colored paper from Art. We needed a Magic-Marker, so we bought one, and are 10 cents in debt.

We have plenty of ideas, and don't really expect to get it entered, but we have to have something to show Mr. McDuffee. We're going to see 'The Angry Red Planet tomorrow, at the Loew's Poli Capitol. (Funny how our original plans never work out, huh?)"
