A Luminous Halo

Tarte au Citron

It's still high summer, but the fam is already making plans for Thanksgiving. Seems like everyone wants to come home to Springfield. My sister and her husband have their roundtrip tickets from Phoenix bought, and a rental car booked. Three of my California cousins are likewise set. Beds have been assigned to all the visitors, and meals allocated. Joanne will serve Thanksgiving dinner at her house; I'll follow my usual plan of hosting a birdless meal the Saturday following. Sister Leslie and her spouse have recently joined the vegan camp, which is great. I have less and less explaining to do every year.

One decision that hasn't yet been made is whether I should serve what's become the traditional two-crust lemon pie, or the tarte au citron I've been baking lately in its place. (Perhaps I could make the pie for Thursday, and the tart for Saturday? Then flip a coin for Amir's birthday on the 28th? Or make one of each? He's my best customer in the lemon department.)

I've only got three months to decide! And maybe in that time I can also come up with a vegan/diabetic version that's just as yummy.
