What I Had for Lunch Today: Chili Noodles with Odd Stir-fry
In the interest of using up the oddest odds and ends, I made this stir-fry for lunch. It's Thai chili noodles topped with the first few ingredients I pulled out of the refrigerator and pantry. It's a red onion, sliced, a clove of garlic, chopped, four Brussels sprouts, shredded, three or four mushrooms, sliced, a bit of broccoli, and a few chunks of Halloween pumpkin-carving leftovers, diced and nuked. I tossed all this in hot oil, then added a drizzle of ginger syrup and a handful of diced tofu bits I had deep-fried. Finally, I splashed in a bit of tamari and some toasted sesame oil. My son, wandering through the kitchen and smelling it, sat down and shared it with me. He pronounced it "wicked awesome."
