A Luminous Halo

"Life is not a series of gig lamps symmetrically arranged; life is a luminous halo, a semi-transparent envelope surrounding us from the beginning of consciousness to the end." --Virginia Woolf

Diary February 27 1960: Movie at the Bing Theater

"Dear Diary

Journey to the Center of the Earth at the Bing. So beautiful! We (Gilda & I) saw it twice, the second part about as far as when Alex loses his trousers & needs a lamb to help him. And the monsters! How gruesome! The caverns were beautiful, though. We asked for tickets, and she replied, "Adult or Children?" Gilda says "Adult," so she gives her 15 cents change when there shouldn't be any! Then she says, "Wrong change," and our hopes sink. So she gives us 15 cents more! Well, I don't know......
Made another picture of Tzaqana. I like it. Good plans for this week. + Mom got a beautiful rug + mat at a mill."

What was Tzaqana?? Lost to history.
